America's Premier Interactive, Real Time, Internet Broadcasting Company is Providing Living Historians, and real life personalities to schools, teachers and administrators throughout The United States.

In October 2000, Virent Broadcasting Company was founded for the purpose of providing Real Time, Interactive - Videoconferencing presentations to school children throughout Ohio, and eventually the world, by “Living Historians” and real life professionals. Virent's goal is to help the education community make effective use of Fiber Optic, digital, ATM and IVDL technology by providing student, and teacher education online. This benefits not only the students, but teachers, administrators and parents. We will cover your states curriculum requirements in the areas of mathematics, science, language arts, social studies, and history by such notable people as George Washington, Abraham Lincoln, Orville Wright, Ben Franklin, Theodore Roosevelt, and over 20 others.

The virtual reality presentations we do are appropriate for elementary, middle, junior high, and senior high school students, educators and parents. Overall, Virent can be characterized as an Interactive, Real Time, Video Conferencing, Educational and Entertainment company of “VIRtual ENThusiasts”, hence the name.
For many years, people have had to perform extensive research through libraries, periodicals and biographies to learn about American and World History. This was a tedious boring, and sometimes, expensive undertaking. As a result of the information they gathered, and the "coloration" of actual persons and events, could be misleading.

What if: Your Science class could talk with “Orville Wright” about how “lift” is achieved? Or, talk with “Thomas Edison” about how he developed the electric light bulb, his recording device or some of his other 1093 patented inventions?

What if: Your Math class could talk with “Galileo” about his ideas on math and how it is used in Astronomy?

What if: Your Language Arts class could talk with “Samuel Clemens” or “Charles Dickens” about their writing techniques? How they came up with the stories that they wrote?

What if: Your American History class could talk with “General George Washington”, or have a debate with “Abraham Lincoln”, i.e. “The Lincoln - Douglas Debates”, or to a “Civil War Soldier”, or a “Revolutionary War Militiaman”, or to an “American Frontier couple” about what life was like in the 1700's?

What about the women of America? Your classes can talk with “Annie Oakley”, “Amelia Earhart”, “Jane Clemens” (Mark Twains mother) and “Betsy Ross”.

Here is a definition, so eloquently written by one of our Living Historians, Eric Rotsinger.

                     “LIVING HISTORIANS”

When hiring a living historian a person should know what they are getting.

We are not actors! We are not roll players, or Halloween refugees! We are Historians; serious portrayers of a famous personality, or personalities. Our purpose is to take years of study, volumes of text, countless hours of research, and distill it down to an image that encapsulates the essence of an individual.

Unfortunately the average American has learned more about history from movies and television then from actually reading. Even in reading, the events and people will be “shaded” by current events. It is common for a person or event to be “sanitized, white washed, or vilified” to serve a political agenda.

A “true” Living Historian looks at the totality of things, and is not swayed by the obnoxious vicissitudes of public opinion. Therefore, we are not bound by political correctness.

If you are looking for the Hollywood version of history, then rent a movie. If you want the truth, look to Virent Broadcasting for your “Living Historians”.
